Over 50 years John has built up an antique business with clientele that spreads across the globe which includes a U.S President, Film and Pop Stars, and famous musicians and politicians, 'A' list celebrities, sport personalities, dealers, auctioneers,  interior designers and thousands of people just like you and me. He have supplied the interior design market as well as the antique trade all over the world. Brand Names like Macy's, Ralph Lauren and Ruby Tuesday; Houlihan’s purchased from him items for their visual effects within their stores and restaurants 

He has bought and sold as well as auctioning some of the most unusual items to come on to the market. Part of the Eiffel Tower, carved oak door frame from the Palace of Westminster - House of Parliament, deeds to the Liverpool Waterfront, a school Photograph of two of the Beatles, A piece of furniture and a bag owned by Jack the Ripper, Queen Victoria's knickers and bead spread from her bed, A baling pin from the from the Anne Alexander (made famous by the Moby Dick novel ), Churchills hat. As well as individual items he also sells collections and whole container shipments of antiques, 20ft, 40ft and 40ft High Cube. from as little as $20,000

John Nolan opened his first shop in the mid 60s in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead (England). By 1970  he had shops both in the cities of Liverpool and Manchester. In 1976 he opened his first of many locations  in Atlanta Georgia which spread to antique shops,  showrooms, warehouses and auction house in the southern part of USA.  Atlanta Georgia became the hub for this sales side of the business and the City of Liverpool was the location for Northern England, Wales and Scotland and Guildford for London and the South for the export side of his antique trade.

 As well as buying and selling antiques and architectural salvage antiques Nolan also manufactured rural and country and classical antique style furniture, he also had a stain glass studio manufacturing traditional English style as well as Tiffany style items.

From 1983 to 2000 John Nolan has restored part of the Lancashire Village of Halsall. A very historical as well as picturesque village, steeped in history. The Manor, The Hall, (winning a prestigious prize with the Lancashire Council) Coach House and Tithe Barn have been painstakingly restored to its original glory. Also he has built 6 new houses in the gated community of Halsall Manor and the home of the famous Halsall Penny. All now a listed buildings as Grade 2

The Southport Antique Centre and The China Shop, China Outlet and The Antique Department where all opened in Southport England between 2000-2005. In 2013 John moved to new premises at 6 and 8 Portland Street, Southport PR8 1JU

John Nolan has always been known as the THEANTIQUESMAN so it was logical for him to trade on the Internet as www.theantiquesman.com  His online business has gone from strength to strength. John Nolan has appeared 4 times on BBC's Antique Road Trip, 2 on of Dickinson's Real Deal, and has supplied the antiques for the Antique Master Show, His home has featured on Television on 3 occasions and  in 2016, twice on "Put your Money Were Your Mouth Is "with Paul Hayes and also with Drew Pritchard "Salvage Hunters." He also appeared on the Antique Road Show from Liverpool and appeared on Cowboy builders and Botch Jobs were the TV company spent 2 hours in his shop recording the purchase of antiques. 17 different shows Nolan has appeared on.
